Given by the people of Amsterdam to their queen Hortense Beauharnais, later Hortense Bonaparte, wife of Napoleons brother Louis Bonaparte.
On the back side of the key- board historical ink inscription: „ Empire upright grand piano, made for Hortense Bonaparte when Queen on Holland, C. Baldeneker (sic) maker, Amsterdam, given by the city of Amsterdam."
